Comments:
This annual subsidy inspection was conducted by the inspector using an alternate remote protocol necessary due to a state of emergency declared by the Governor of Virginia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Preliminary data was obtained from the vendor on 4/2/2021.
An annual subsidy inspection was initiated on 4/13/2021, at which time the vendor was contacted by video call to initiate the inspection, and concluded on 4/13/2021. The inspector emailed the vendor a list of items required to complete the inspection.
There were 57 children in care and 11 staff present at the center. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the vendor to ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for
Child Care programs.
The information gathered during the inspection determined an area of non-compliance with applicable regulations or law, and a violation was issued.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-H
Description: Based on record review, the center did not ensure one of four staff had documentation of the required annual Health and Safety Update Training.
Evidence:
The record of staff # 2 had documentation of the Annual Health and Safety Update Training dated 9/9/2019. All staff are required to complete the training annually.

Plan of Correction: The employee will be notified to complete the training as soon as possible. The Director will look at the dates of all the current employees and going forward, notify employees annually 30 days before their training expires so the training can be updated.
